AIDSFree, with funding from the U.S. President's Emergency Program for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through USAID’s Office of HIV/AIDS (OHA), USAID Southern Africa, and USAID Namibia, is developing the Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) Online Training Hub, an eLearning platform and learning management system (LMS) that will:

  • Enable trainees to access and complete both the theoretical and simulation components of VMMC training at their convenience from a computer/tablet/smartphone in advance of in-person clinical practicum training.
  • Allow implementing partners to report on the numbers of individuals completing didactic training by training cadre and the period elapsed since first and most recent training.
  • Record trainees’ examination performance, and identify their strengths and weaknesses in real-time. Trainees performing below the accepted minimal standard may also receive remedial instruction and retesting through the LMS.
  • Alert previously trained individuals about updates to standards of clinical care or policy requirements, and reinforce particularly critical points related to patient safety.
