Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement: Lessons Learned from East and Southern Africa

This two-hour satellite event, sponsored by PEPFAR and USAID through the USAID ASSIST Project, demonstrated how external quality assurance (EQA) and continuous quality improvement (CQI) approaches are improving VMMC service quality and patient outcomes in six East and Southern African countries. Speakers shared results and available tools to support programs to improve the quality of medical male circumcision services. Presentations were followed by a panel discussion among stakeholders to share lessons learned and implications for other countries and HIV program areas.
