AIDSFree Namibia: Expanding HIV Services

AIDSFree’s goal in Namibia is to increase access to quality HIV services through private health sector engagement. Through targeted assistance to private, for-profit health care providers and stakeholders, AIDSFree is working to increase access to, affordability of, and quality of HIV services, with an emphasis on voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) and antiretroviral treatment (ART). The project involves health insurance providers, private health care workers, up to 450,000 Namibians with access to health insurance, and approximately 14,600 clients currently receiving ART in the private sector. It has increased access to HIV services by out-of-pocket and low-income clients by facilitating innovative partnerships between the public and private health sectors.
