Sexual Risk-Taking is Common among Youth and Adolescents


This review showed that young people in sub-Saharan Africa frequently engage in behaviors such as condomless sex and age-disparate relationships that put them at risk of HIV. HIV programs for youth and adolescents should integrate sexual and reproductive health interventions to prevent HIV and onward transmission.

Improve Services to Strengthen Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) for Young People

This review showed that though young people are interested in PrEP for HIV prevention, adherence is a major barrier in this population.  Programs should focus on improving the quality of services, including providers' knowledge and counseling services.

Agenda 2030 For LGBTI Health and Well-Being

This paper describes the relevance of the global development goal, “Ensure Healthy Lives and Promote Well-Being for All at All Ages,” to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) populations. It provides four major actions and nine cross-cutting recommendations for integrating LGBTI concerns within national agendas and monitoring progress toward this development goal.
