HIVST in West Africa: ATLAS Training Manuals for Peer Educators in Senegal

To ensure quality HIVST distribution, correct use, and accurate interpretation of results, and to promote effective linkage to testing confirmation and care, the ATLAS Project has developed comprehensive training packages for dispensing agents in each country but also HIVST supporting tools for users.

Specific and adapted training sessions have been conducted in Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, and Senegal to train peer educators who dispense HIVST kit to targeted key populations as part of community-based distribution.

The resource material presented includes training manuals used during two-day sessions in Senegal, focused on using active teaching methods and practical exercises and includes the following training modules:
