This set of tools are meant to support partner notification services (PNS) provider interactions with index clients and their contacts. First, it includes “talking points” for introducing PNS to index clients, including what information to provide during pre- and post-test counseling or at HIV care clinics, and introducing options for notifying partners. Second, it includes scripts for calling, leaving a voicemail, texting, or conducting a home visit with partners. Phone call and home visit scripts address how providers should confirm they have reached the correct person, inform the partner of potential HIV exposure, and offer HIV testing. These tools were developed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for use in PNS programs.
